Alexander Munro Shiraz
Wine
Meerea Park Alexander Munro Shiraz is named in honour of winemaker Rhys Eather's great-great-grandfather. It is made with the best old vine Shiraz parcel each vintage.
The handpicked fruit is crushed into open vats, with a portion of the stems retained. As it ferments the juice is plunged twice daily to optimize flavour and tannin extraction.
The wine is lightly airbag pressed and transferred to new and seasoned French oak barrels. After around 18 months of maturation the wine is fined, moderately filtered and bottled.
Garnet red, Meerea Park Alexander Munro Shiraz is medium bodied and dark fruited, with well balanced oak and tannins. Cellaring potential is 25 years.
